Examining how LLMs can support food policies and behavioral interventions

Updated: Jul 17, 2025

In new research co-authored by YNOT researchers Micha Kaiser, Peter Ochieng, Billy Shi, and YNOT co-director Lucia Resich, in collaboration with Paul Lohmann of the El-Erian Institute at the Cambridge Judge Business School and Cass Sunstein of Harvard Law School, a fine-tuned LLM for predicting outcomes of bahvioral interventions in food policy is presented and its effectiveness demonstrated. The model can accurately predict the direction of outcomes with nearly 80% accuracy, offering a powerful resource for data-driven food policy. The full paper is available on the arXiv here.
